Welcome to Play Base Early Learning Centre. Our lovely centre is privately owned and caters for 28 children. We cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We strive to provide a service that cares for our children in a safe, homely and nurturing environment that is both inclusive and recognises diversity.

The early years is the most critical and influential stage of a child’s development and we at Play Base have a responsibility and a duty of care to do all we can to maximise this magical time. We believe children learn through play and here at Play Base we will provide opportunities and experiences to allow children to explore, discover, create and imagine.

We ensure that our children are not only learning and cared for, but are also safe and respected during every moment of their time with us. We do this by following our Play Base Values

Communication

OWNA is a platform we use on a daily base to communicate with families and document our children’s development. Through this innovative software we are able to share the children’s portfolios, photos, goals and logs. We use OWNA to ensure our children are meeting all their development requirement under the early learning framework.

We at Play Base have an open-door communication policy and encourage our parents to approach us without hesitation for any concern or queries they may have. We believe in working together to help shape these young beautiful minds and guide them to the goal of Belonging, Being and Becoming (Early years Early Framework for Australia).

Curiosity

As little people, our children have a natural thirst of knowledge and curiosity. We are here to harness this curiosity and use it to help develop these keen, curious minds and establish the foundations for young confident people. At Play Base we strive to create a very deliberate environment that encourages our children to explore, create and imagine through play. Through such play the child understands the importance of Being here and now.
Respect

Respect is a vital part of our educational program. Our aim is to guide children in learning to treat others, themselves and the environment with care, empathy and respect.

All children have the right to an education that lays a foundation for the rest of their lives, maximises their ability, and respects their family, cultural and other identities and languages. Developing an awareness of being and understanding their social and cultural heritage, their gender and their significance.
Enjoy

At play base we understand that a child needs to enjoy their time away from home. Play must be enjoyable for the child and should not be forced. Through joy, children tend to be engaged and embrace the activities at hand. When children are engaged, they have the best chance of developing a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating.
Acceptance

In early childhood settings children develop a sense of belonging when they feel accepted, develop attachments and trust those that care for them. As children are developing their sense of identity, they explore different aspects of it (physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive), through their play and their relationships. This allows for the expression of personality and uniqueness
Togetherness

Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support their young person's learning. When educators establish respectful and caring relationships with children and families, they are able to work together to construct curriculum and learning experiences relevant to children in their local context. These experiences gradually expand children’s knowledge and understanding of the world.
Aiding them in Becoming keen and eager learners and to participate fully and actively in society as they grow and develop.
Ethical

We at Play Base place a great deal of importance in creating an Ethical culture. A strong ethical culture is having a “speak up” culture. Our educators are empowered to identify, speak up and raise any concern that may adversely affect our children. We understand the important role that we play in caring for these children and that is why we carry out our daily duties with honesty and integrity.
